Once a year, Record Store Day celebrates the culture of the the independent music store, bringing together artists and small businesses who give to one another and help sustain the art economy. We at Claude Lakey are huge fans of this important holiday, so we’ve put together a small guide to help you get the most out of this wonderful annual event.

This year's Record Store Day ambassador is rock music icon Dave Grohl. Watch him share his first experience with a vinyl record as a kid and explain why the existence of record stores is still so important in 2015.

Special Releases:

The list of special edition vinyls, colored vinyls, 7" inch vinyls, 12" vinyls, and CD Box sets available at participating RSD2015 locations is far too extensive for us to list here, but the popularity of this day has given music listeners of any genre can  something to get excited about!

From a 7" vinyl of A-ha's "Take On Me" (that's what I'll be digging for), to rare collections, singles, and albums from Stan Getz, The Kinks, Bob Marley, Jaco Pastorius, Otis Redding, and dozens more, check out the entire list at http://recordstoreday.com/SpecialReleases

We hope to encourage all the musicians and music lovers in our network to support causes like this that contribute to a more musically diverse world. The celebration and existence of small businesses that connect fans with tangible CDs and vinyl records - and their artwork - is defintely a cause we can get behind.

So this Saturday, exit that iTunes browser and be sure to make your way to your local record store for Record Store Day 2015!
