Alto Sax Mouthpiece

All six alto mouthpieces are handcrafted differently and have various characteristics. They all have a high baffle but differ in the facing, tip opening and chamber size which allows for noticeable changes from one model to another. Each model plays differently and has differing overtone structures. All mouthpieces are tested using Hemke 2, or 2 ½ strength reeds.

4*3 (.075 Tip Opening)

The 4*3 is easy to control and has a very exciting chamber. It has a short facing and is a great all purpose mouthpiece. This Alto mouthpiece is moderatly bright with a high baffel and is hand faced and tested to ensure quality.

4*4 (.075 Tip Opening)

Similar in design to the 4*3 but much darker, this mouthpiece has good projection and plays very easily. The overtone structure is different than the 4*3 and plays beautifully with a little more resistance than the other mouthpieces.

5 3 (.080 Tip Opening)

Similar in design to the 5*3 this mouthpiece gives the player a warmer sound than the 5*3 but it is easy to play and has great projection.

5*3 (.080 Tip Opening)

This is the most versatile alto mouthpiece we make. Bright, solid, round sound with great projection, this mouthpiece lets you play as delicate or as powerful as you want. Great for session, combo or section work.

6*3 (.085 Tip Opening)

Warmly bright with a centered round sound, the 6*3 is a wonderful mouthpiece for lead or solo work. It can cut through amplification and rhythm sections and will enable you to be heard.

7*3 (.090 Tip Opening)

Similar in design to the 6*3, this mouthpiece has a larger opening to the chamber which allows more air flow into the horn. Bright, with great projection, this mouthpiece also lets you cut so you can be heard. The 7*3 is a wonderful all-around mouthpiece with great versatility.
